Texas Citizens for Fair Property Taxes

June 16, 2025: Town Council unanimously raised it (homestead exception) from the then-current rate (reported as 12.5% in some accounts) all the way to the maximum 20% allowed under Texas law. This applies beginning with the 2025–2026 fiscal year / tax bills. The original proposal had been 17.5%, but council opted for the full 20%.
